Do Homeopathic Colon Cleanse Treatments Work?

Often when people refer to homeopathic colon cleanse treatments they generally mean the herbal preparations that are available from pharmacies and online. These colon cleansing “kits” usually contain a number of natural herbs that promote colon mobility health and have a strong laxative effect.

Homeopathic remedies are actually constructed using a different philosophy. Homeopathy comes from the grek words “homios”, meaning similar or like, and “pathos”, meaning suffering.

Essentially homeopathy uses the belief that whatever causes a disease can also cure it. Homeopathic preparations are based on the belief that a remedy can be diluted in water until little or no starting material remains, the water will retain a form of a “memory” of what was diluted within it.

Homeopathy is considered a science and was practiced way back during Hippocrates' time but it was only during the eighteenth century when Dr. Hahnemann scientifically explained this principle.

However, the theory of homeopathy has largely been discredited by the scientific community and many controlled tests that have been carried out have not conclusively shown that homeopathy produces results any better than the placebo control group.

The debate as to whether homeopathy is a credible approach to treating conditions or in this case cleansing the colon will rage on for many more years. However, this author would suggest that the reader seek credible testimonials before adopting a homeopathic colon cleansing treatments.

A homeopath will normally check the person’s full medical history and identify what the potential cause of the conditions is, and also generally mention life style changes that should be adopted to reduce the impact on the colon.

This can in help a person define a better diet and introduce more healthy eating habits, which can in it self help the person clean their colons naturally.

The body is designed to naturally clean the colon, as long as this function is helped by eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly and drinking sufficient pure water, then the colon will normally be clear of any problems.

That being said, if you want to adopt a Homeopathic colon cleansing program they are gentle and safe and normally use natural ingredients with little chance of causing adverse side effects.

Although the debate about the effectiveness of homeopathic remedies will no doubt continue into the future, and with little chance that agreement will be reached, I would recommend adopting an approach that has more proven benefits (although possibly more taxing).

Effective treatments that are available include, colonic hydrotherapy, taking an enema, laxatives (help clear blockages although it may be temporary), herbal preparations and oxygen preparations.

A homeopathic colon cleanse may be an option you want to adopt, but seek out people who have had success and discuss with them the approach adopted and make up your own mind if it is for you.
